Cleaning Hair Brushes

There are three easy steps to clean Brigitte’s Hair Brushes.

  1. Rinse the hair brush and remove any hair
  2. Soak hair brushes in a bucket of hair brush cleaner or Lysol for 5 minutes
  3. Rinse hair brushes and let air dry

First you take brush cleaner or Lysol (for those who don’t have access to professional hair brush cleaners), add it to a bucket of hot water, and put the brushes in to soak for a few minutes. Step two, remove the hair from Brigitte’s Brushes using an old fashioned bristle brush. Put the brushes back into the water to soak for about 5 minutes. Step three, rinse the brushes with hot water and lay them out to dry. And that’s the three easy steps to clean Brigitte’s Brushes.

Note: Depending on the state the salon is located in, professional salons may have to follow specific guidelines when cleaning and sanitizing their equipment, including hair brushes. Check your state cosmetology boards rules for specific laws that apply to your salon. For home owners a general way to sanitize the brushes would be to soak them in a mixture of bleach and water (3/4 cup of bleach to one gallon of water) for 30 minutes.
